How to make a poll and text it
Five steps in the free Poll Maker editor, from your question to a link anyone can vote on.
Write your poll question and answers
Type your question where the editor says Type your question here, then your choices in Answer 1, Answer 2 and Answer 3. A new answer row appears as you fill the last one.
Pick Quick poll or Presentation
Use the switch at the top right of the editor, which starts on Quick poll. Keep Quick poll to send a link people vote on when they like, or pick Presentation to show it on a big screen. On a phone, it's the link icon in the same corner.
Choose your poll settings
Open the Settings tab. Pick Anonymous under Start from to collect no names, set When do results show? to When closed or Never, and use Closes to set an end date. Turn on Ask why in a question's menu to collect one line of reasons.
Copy your poll link
Press Create poll at the bottom right of the editor. The Share tab opens with your Poll link, so press Copy link.
Send it by text or WhatsApp
Paste the link into a text message or group chat, or tap the WhatsApp or email button under it. In a room, show the QR code from the Share tab. Results update as each vote arrives.

How do I make a poll?

How many people can vote in a poll?
As many as you can reach. Every poll and Quick poll takes unlimited votes on every plan.
How do I make an anonymous poll?
Poll Maker never asks voters for a name or an account, so every poll is anonymous unless you ask for details. In the editor's Settings tab, the Anonymous preset collects no names, and results can stay hidden until voting closes. Our security and privacy policy says what we store.
Do voters need an account or an app?
No. Voters open your link or scan your QR code and vote in their phone's browser. Nobody downloads an app or makes an account. In a live presentation, people join with the QR code on the screen or a 6-digit code.
Can I send a poll by text message or WhatsApp?
Yes. Every poll has its own link, so you can paste it into a text message, WhatsApp, Instagram or any group chat, or tap the WhatsApp button on the Share tab. One link works for several groups at once, and the results stay in one place.
How do you stop people voting twice?
Poll Maker checks each vote with a digital signature built from many signals, and a suspect vote does not count. Each phone or browser gets one vote by default.
Can I see why people voted the way they did?
Yes. Turn on Ask why for a question and voters can add one optional line after they vote. Each reason sits under the answer that person chose, in their own words, ready for the big screen or a download.
Can I see poll results by country?
Yes. Quick poll results show a world map and a Votes by country table with the top answer in each place. A country appears only once 5 people there have voted, so no one can be singled out.
Can I ask the same people again?
Yes. Turn on Followers and, after they vote, people can tap Ask me next time and confirm by email. Send your next poll to all your followers or to one group. You see who answered, never what they answered, and anyone can leave at any time.
