Our Alternative A5036 Port of Liverpool Access Scheme Consultation. What's your favoured option?
Option A: More of the same - Compound the misery of those living alongside the existing A5036 by introducing even more traffic, noise and air pollution - poisoning the air our children breathe.
Option B: Destroy green space - Replicate the existing problem a short distance away by bulldozing a country park, destroying the landscape and wildlife, severing links between communities, introducing massive amounts of air and noise pollution - poisoning the air our children breathe.
Option C: Build a tunnel - Go back to the UK Government and demand the money to build a tunnel that is sensitively designed without impacting on people’s homes and lives. (Requires backbone).
Option D: A different approach - Develop a non-road, multi-modal solution which improves the existing infrastructure, such as the rail network and Manchester Ship Canal to reduce lorry movements and takes steps to alleviate (not add to) the congestion caused by domestic vehicle use by improving public transport links, promoting the use of “greener” vehicles and introducing other measures. (Requires vision).
