Hemaxi Mistry
Hemaxi Mistry has been owner of the Illinois DCFS licensed Miss Hema Child care since 2007 in Downers Grove, IL. The philosophy of Miss Hema family home child care is a safe, inclusive, loving, caring and neat environment. All the children that join Miss Hema childcare become life-long family members of that household. Hemaxi Mistry started her home child care in consideration of families looking for a reliable, trustworthy, loving and caring person to look after their children. She takes care of children the age of 4 weeks old through twelve year-olds. She is currently Illinois State licensed for up to 8 kids. Children in her care have a day full of learning through play, combined with carefully planned social, emotional, physical and cognitive activities for each stage of child development. She has her own website www.misshema.com. She has her own Facebook page where she posts daily updates and pictures of the kids in her care. The parents love to see what all happens during their day at a home away from home. The most important factor to choose Miss Hema as a Child Care provider is “She will be the second Mom to your child.”
Hemaxi Mistry is certified for Early Childhood Education Credentials at both level 1 and level 2 through INCCRRA. She is a member of the Illinois Gateway Registry, Wheaton/Glen Ellyn Child care association and YWCA Metropolitan Chicago. She is First Aid/CPR certified by the American Heart Association. She has completed 9 credit hours of Early Childhood courses through the College of DuPage. Miss Hema incorporates STEM based educational activities in her curriculum after participating in Math and Science workshops for Early Childhood setting through DuPage Children Museum. Apart from her own business, she has been an active PTA member for school district 58 and CSD 99 since last 10 years.
Parents of the kids in her care say that "she provides: structure with activities, meals, naps etc., healthy meals with LOTS of fresh fruits and vegetables, a curriculum with the building blocks of growth and development from numbers, shapes, letters to learning about nature and the community to behavior and manners with kindness and respect for others." Another parent said: "Miss Hema truly cares about all the children in her care and it shows. It is like the children become part of their family. My daughter has also learned a great deal. She blows me away with all the knowledge and concepts she has learned! I cannot recommend her enough!"
