I think I really want to say no but will say Mixed with a natural hedge so I can comment. Nobody wants to eat fruit that has dog wee on it.

My concern with fruit is that people who allow dogs to poo in and around the beds would definitely allow them to wee against a hedge. If a child or someone who was confused was to pick the fruit and eat it that would be horrible. As a suggestion I’d go for natural hedging that can be layed to make for a good place for birds and insects in the future. I appreciate that might be too costly for the rapid barrier that you’re looking for.
