Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle-Napoleon Hill.This saying embodies my journey.I was born and brought up in a small town Kano in Nigeria.Educated in both London and India. I left home at the age of 12 to begin my journey.Even though we lived away from India we have always carried it in our hearts and my parents made sure that we kept up with Indian customs and festivals.Diwali was and still is my favorite festival. As a child I loved to perform on stage.Family has always been an integral part of my life and I’ve always striven to balance that with my career. I studied Early Childhood Education and then acquired a Montessori license from the international Montessori society in Bangalore. My dream was to have a school of my own some day.

From a young age I’ve been independent and always tried to make my own pocket money.After my education and during my stay in Nigeria  I’ve successfully held many jobs such as teaching English to second graders in Lebanon International School , interning with KLM airlines,teaching in a Russian owned International  School. I was one of the first Indian girls to start working in a small town Kano. I moved to Philadelphia in 2001 after my marriage. I had the best wedding in Mumbai just like the way I wanted it. When I reached Philadelphia life was not all smooth sailing . My struggles involved dealing with difficult  challenging situations,  unemployed husband and working long hours to support the family. Personal trials like a painful miscarriage and the breakup of my marriage may have got me down but did not break me and like a Phoenix arising from the ashes I came back stronger and looked for better jobs. While I was teaching I worked part time in retail to earn that extra money. I soon got a full time job as a Retail Manager in various departments with Boscovs for 9 years achieving two promotions and best manager awards. I learned everything on the job and found myself doing things that I thought I could not do.

During my time in Retail is when I landed my self a successful career in banking.  I was recruited by the manager of Citizens bank Asha Chandani who at that time was shopping for her husband. She saw potential in me. Through my work I have volunteered for the Leukemia Lymphoma and Cancer  Society of Chicago and the Food Depositary of Chicago.I am on the planning committee  for Asian  American Coalition of Chicago.

I started a house call medical practice in 2011 for the seniors and disabled. It was a niche area in American healthcare system. With an entrepreneurial mindset, efficient operational practices, and marketing strategies, the business was profitable in the first year.

I also managed my father’s retail business in India without any formal training in dire circumstances. I was only 19 years old when my father had a major heart attack and couldn’t work for more than 6 months. Being the eldest of the family and having no other source of income, I took over the family business. I managed to increase the sales by implementing new marketing strategies and inventory management.

I am formalizing my knack for business by completing my Masters in Business Administration while raising 2 kids under 4 years of age.
