Realist. What a load of tosh. Public spending is the lifeblood for a whole swathe of the country who rely on benefits. How are people expected to live when housing and other benefits, which we all have a right to when we live in Britain, are being cut by this heartless government.
Put Labour to Work

Realist. Put like that I'm inclined to agree with you. Tony Blair and Gordon Brown did a lot of good but unfortunately their hyped up public sector spending and opening the flood gates to immigration, have saddled us with the highest debt in our history and and intractable integration problem. Corby will be all of that on . Vote Conservative today and save us from A Labour hell.

George Osborne's tax changes will be as nothing compared to the anti property owning Marxist ideology behind Corbyn and McDonald's bid for power. Vote for them and you will not only bring down landlords, you will bring the country to its knees. If you are old enough to remember Harold Wilson, his brand of Socialism was mild compared to these two, but it still brought is ti the bring of a bankrupt country, cap in had to the IMF and working a three day week. The turn-around queen Maggie got us out of the financial mire, only to be thrown back in it by the "no money left" Gordon Brown. If you want stability at a rather crucial time in our history, and I voted Remain, vote for a sensible leader - Mre May.

Have all of you Tory voters forgotten what George Osborne has done to put 1000's of landlords out of business? We will soon have to pay tax on our turnover - not on our profit like any other business. I wish JC had raised this issue during the campaign, it is an insane tax law… It will put more properties into the hands of corporate landlords which will push up rent levels. Homelessness will rise.
Corbyn - A Disaster!!!

Jeremy Corbyn "ensuring there is proper regulation of the private rental sector is a very high priority for me.” We all know what he means don't we boys and girls???

I find it strange that Labour are so against private landlords when the last Labour government used so many PFI's to build new hospitals and schools and all the governments that follow will for the next 30 - 40 years pay private landlords for it. With that in mind has Labour presided over the biggest privatsation of the NHS while trying to place the blame elsewhere Labour are a cash grab party any pot of cash that can be exploited will be it was private pensions last time a £5bn hit then we were told to put more money in to fill the gap anybody not claiming benefits seems to be fair game for labours taxation I think this election campaign has been over shadowed by brexit and all the negativity of some of the remain politicians while sidelining other issues that are just if not more important Anything they say now will not influence me my vote went in the post 2 days ago a strange fact that is missed by the politicians and the media

HOW TO RIG THIS POLL!!!
Jun 3, 2017
Easy...delete your cookie for this site and vote again...Obviously some Corbynista students have been busy today voting again and again....Ridiculous! I am a mamber of a FB small landlords group and sis a straw poll with 87 members voting. Results?... Conservatives 92% (80 people) Corbyn 8%...NO votes for anyone else.... 80% support for the Conservatives is much nearer the mark IMHO!

Why would any sane landlord vote for leftist ideologue wealth redistributors like Corbyn/McDonell? This people do not respect private property rights any more than a burglar and see any excess wealth held any individual, however small, however well deserved and hard won through work, ingenuity, risk taking and effort as fair game to be redistributed to all. That is the crux of socialist ideology. Not so "fair" as they like to make out, just theft in disguise.

When You-Gov is recording a 8% advantage for the Tories it is more than suspicious that a poll of "Landlords" (a group generally despised by Corbyn and crew) shows they chose our Jezza by a huge and unnatural margin...if not rigged how would any Corbnistas out there like to explain it?...I could do with a laugh!

Great that other landlords can see beyond the self-interested main stream media trying to trick the middle classes that the Tories act for them. The Tories are only for the super wealthy, not the likes of a small time landlord. I'll fall into the group that pays a bit more tax, but easily worth it for a fairer, better educated, safer society. Read 'The Spirit Level' for some convincing of the merits of lower inequality.

The thing about most people who are good landlords is that they generally have a reasonably clear view about money. The most basic financial fact is that you cannot spend money you haven't got without paying a huge penalty in due course. So why on earth does any landlord think it's a good idea to believe Corbyn's spend, spend, spend philosophy? We have had an all too recent perfect example of what happens when a Labour government throws OUR money about without considering the impact on ALL of us in due course. Please think again all Corbyn's policies are simply a form of bribery - totally incredible and totally dishonest!

Wow! Bearing in mind the impact of a Labour government on landlords and property ownership, I'm absolutely astounded by this poll - it has so obviously been hijacked!!!

Actually the stuff about the NHS crisis being due from an aging population is rubbish. I'm afraid your papers have lied to you. The tories have starved the NHS of funds in real terms, as well as our schools and social services. As this clip here puts out quite clearly As a resonsible landlord I am well aware that when everyone does well, by which I mean our services, NHS, schools and of course our tenants, so do I, in terms of my conscience and my pocket. The wheels of the tory campaign have clearly fallen off, it's been an insult to our intelligence, they have been playing us all for fools, and I'm glad that the majority of those polled here have seen the light. Gives me hope for our battered country!

I think that expecting people to pay for care is fair. The issue of people sitting on their posterior all their life and letting the government keep them and then getting care for free is a separate issue that certainly does need addressing. I also think that families should take more responsibility for looking after their aged and sick relatives. When my father died I gave up my career to care for him (and no, he didn't have a lage house and wealth that I was trying to protect - I did it because I cared about him and it is the right thing to do - and it has cost me my ability to retire at anywhere near a "normal" retirement age - and yes, I am a wicked, uncaring Tory to boot). It is time we stopped expecting someone else to pay for everything and shoulder some responsibility ourselves. That is a form of "tax" on those that are wealthy enough to do it. If I may say, deciding to vote Labour instead of Conservative over this issue is like someone who loses a little finger, so decides the remedy is cut off their whole arm !

The "theiving Tories" have taken millions out of paying any Income Tax (by raising the threashold), have put more in real terms into the NHS and Education, have achieved the lowest unemployment figures for a lifetime. A bit of extra tax spent properly is very desirable - the question is as how to that tax is raised. The financially astute way of having more tax to spend is through a strong economy - not by imposing higher levels of tax which history has repeatedly shown actually depresses the economy and results in less tax take to spend. The problem with the NHS and Social care is that the level of demand is growing significantly with an aging population and just throwing more money in will not, in the long term, be a viable solution. What is needed is new approach that ALL political and interest groups contribute to - not keeping it a party political issue (Labour, Conservative, Lib Dem or anyone else's), or the problems will never be resolved.

I'm afraid that expecting people to pay for care is not fair. We accepted the £75k cap but what will the cap be now? Theresa won't say before the election. I could have sat on my posterior all my life and let the government keep me - and then got care for free. Instead, I worked all my life and bought properties. I haven't claimed 1 day of benefits. How is it fair that my properties should be handed over to the government just because I didn't claim benefits?

Majic ?? Sorry, I meant Magic Obviously sooo excited at the prospect of Corbyn being in a position to wreck the economy - what Blair and Brown acheived in that respect will pale into insignificance as the pound falls, the cost of imports goes up, the cost of employing staff increases with the living wage hike (so unemployment increases), the tax take actually drops as companies move out and individuals move their wealth resulting in further borrowing increasing the national debt, which leads to Britain loosing its AA Standard & Poor's rating which in turn results in the cost of debt repayment (already £70 billion p.a.) increasing - which means even higher taxes to cover this or an inability to implement any of the manifesto promises (bribes for the economically illiterate) - and so the cycle goes round again until the next Conservative government (which finds another "no more money" note) has to try and sort the shambles out with austerity measures far harder than this time - aaarrrrrggggghhhhhhh !!!!!!!
The Happy Tax Payer.

A bit of extra tax spent properly to improve the lot of this country should be a no brainer. Unless of course you are just as selfish as the Tories, and only ever in it for short term gain.
